So, today 3.15pm , Gabe and I set off to pick Milo up from school as we usually do. Just about to enter the school gates and duh......... remembered Milo is at one of his after school clubs until 4.30pm.

So what to do for about an hour , a big long walk around the block taking in the park would just about do it .

The ground is still all frosty and frozen , it has been all day . Doesn't stop Gabe running about like a maniac though and there were still a few photo opportunities.

Sometimes it looks as though there isn't anything worth photographing but if you look closely there is always something. Take these feathery grass stems or this dead Salvia ( I think that's what it is anyway ).

And oh joy of joys look what I found hiding away on an old tree stump..

A little toadstool village - perfect.

As always beautiful pictures. We are trying to get in the groove of school again here - Henry just had a months break and he is glad to be back but would like a bit longer at home in the AM to linger in his pj's!

Love your photo's and the details you seem to get in them. A toadstool village sounds magical way to spend an hour to me.

I'm glad it's not just me who turns up in the wrong place at the wrong time. And much better to be there when not needed than forgetting to collect him altogether! Juliex

Very interesting pictures. I like the feathery grass one. It is true- if you look closely enough there is always something to see and photograph.

Oh how fun -- love the toadstool shots. Did you get any shots for the scavenger hunt?

I did exactly the same thing on Tuesday. Such a muppet, I was chatting to the other Mum's and wondering where F was then doh! yes, at yoga club. Unlike you I didn't take any nice photos but sat in the car with Charlie (who decided the playground was too cold) listening to radio 4. Lovely photos, especially the grass :)
