10th December 2010

Just thought I'd share a few photos taken on the way home from school last night ... the sun was setting just after 3.30pm.

We had a huge thaw last night and lots of the snow has melted , unfortunately what was left was all the ice that had been compacted underfoot. Getting to school this morning was really dreadful and quite scary . It was literally like walking on a skating rink, so bad that I actually took the car to pick up Milo from school tonight as the roads were better than the pavements. But hey , guess what ............ yep , we have more snow forecast for next week !!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Gorgeous pictures. I hope all that snow melts quickly and perhaps you get just a little on Christmas Eve, wouldn't that be perfect ;-)

We've had the most dramatic skies at the start and end of the day too - such a beautiful sight which you've captured perfectly

Lovely photos, amazing sky!

We have the same problem, although I have to drive (it's too far to walk) to school but the carpark and pavements are soooo dangerous.

Beautiful sky! This is my favorite time of year for sunsets. I have a west-facing office and the views are so pretty when all the leaves are off of the trees. Lots of pretty pinks and yellows -- just like yours!

I love these photos. The sky looks like it is catching fire as the sun sets! Hopefully it won't snow too much or be as cold again. x
