The First Of Six

Ok, where do I start. Deep breath, when I was pregnant with Baby G I piled on the weight and I still haven;t lost it. At the minute I'm feeling very down with myself and I've only got myself to blame and no-one else - I know that .For months now I have been saying " tomorrow I'll start my diet " " from tomorrow no more chocolate" . Well now I've had enough and I have to do something --about me....
My wardrobe consists of 8 of these ... varying in different shades of black.

Hub ever so nicely said that he was a bit weary of seeing me in these and said I had to go buy myself something new. So I bought these.

Can you see the problem? I am stuck in a baggy top rut because they are the only thing I feel comfortable in, they are my security tops!
Tomorrow is the 1st of June and I am going to do it this time - I have told everyone out there who reads my Blog and now you all know .. I have no more excuses not to lose my baby weight and get back into my pre -pregnancy clothes.
I am giving myself 6 weeks, at least to get a good start and I'm going to give an update every Monday. I hope I won't bore you all too much with this and I will still continue to post about other things . If anyone out there has any hints , tips or nice diet recipes all help will be gratefully recieved.
Wish me luck.

Hi Lisa,

I have been trying to get rid of my baby weight for 3 years and I just seem to be getting bigger. So this week I have made the decision to start at Slimming WOrld on Tuesday morning and make more of an effort to go to the gym. I went to Slimming World 4 years ago and lost 2 stone in 3 months, unfortunately this led to me falling pregnant (hormones and all that!). I will let you know how I'm getting on and if I find out any new recipes I will let you know!

Good Luck and here's to the new & slimmer bloggers!

You go girl!

I always find that empyting my house of all chocolate and chocolate products is the best strategy.

Good on you Lisa - just have a really positive mind that you will achieve your goal. I have lost 12 kg in the last three months and I can't believe how good I feel. I still have a lot more to lose - but I know I will get there. So good on you putting yourself out there. You can do it!

Post away about the weight loss journey and what you're eating: I won't be bored at all--I love this sort of thing. I find the best way to lose weight is to write down eveything and you have to stop eating once you've reached your "points" for the day (or calories). This takes lots of planning but it works. Good good luck, I'll be cheering you on.

Being so close to the medical world i always resort to medical help :). Before I had Meg I weighed 47kg sufice to say Ihave not ever weighed this since!!! I now have a 'float' of 5kg that I loose and gain each year. I am at the phase of needing to loose now maybe we should do it together?

Oh your singin' my song sister.... I have some kind of crazy biology and actually lost weight when I had my girls. Weird. Not my problem now though that my youngest is almost 8! I have been meaning to get serious about losing 10-15 lbs. You're inspiring me!

Best of luck. I have tried nearly all the diets going over the years and the best tip I can give to losing weight is to exercise more (quite a bit more)brisk walking, keeping active etc and reduce portion sizes. I don't cut out anything, I just eat smaller amounts. Put your food on a side plate rather than a big dinner plate and it will look like you have stacks of food! I am saying this tongue in cheek to you. Obviously go with whatever diet suits you best.

good luck Lisa - my only tips are to try and keep busy to keep your mind off food and exercise as much as you can - find something that you enjoy doing so it doesn't feel like a chore! Hope it goes really well for you x

good luck Lisa, think I'll join you, my jeans are feeling very snug today, and I've started wearing hubby's jumpers again, a sure sign I'm not feeling great about my figure. love the colour of that new blue top!
the only tip I can think of is to make vast quantities of veg soup, no points weight watchers recipe.

Good luck with the diet. Hopefully it'll get easier if this weather improves, you have to have chocolate when it's grey and miserable!

Good luck - I won't be bored either - I need all the motivation I can get to start losing my baby weight.

Good luck - I think saying it on your blog is a very brave but also great thing to do. I wish you all the best with it. I can see from those tops that you're not that big, but I understand that feeling of not being comfortable with oneself.

Take care. x

I struggle with my weight, although over the last six months I have managed to lose a stone and a half and dropped a jean size! I do feel so much happier as I can get really down about my appearance. Although still a size 16 I am finding that clothes are fitting better now. At least these tops are very fashionable at the moment, but can sometimes make you look bigger than you really are. I think the secret is to wear more fitted clothes and don't worry about showing a few lumps and bumps. Let's face it most of us have them, even some of the models have cellulite! Good luck Lisa, I know how hard it is to resist the goodies. We shall all be keeping a close eye on you and helping you along the way. x

All the best with the diet paln Lisa, go for it. I'm like so many others, drifting between feeling ok and then appalled with how I look. Don't be too hard on yourself, having little ones is trying enough without punishing yourself. My mum's tip is always, "eat more fruit and veg than anything else and it'll drop off". Have to say she's not wrong. And treat yourself to a wrap top is mine, hides a multitude of sins, gives you a waist and you can wear a vest underneath too. I'm a decent size 16 but live in them. Stops me hiding under the baggy tops too much. Off for another apple now!

Well done, hope it's going well. I lost 10 lbs a couple of months ago when I had tonsilitis and couldn't eat but wouldn't recommend it as a weight loss strategy!
