What Do You Think?

This is my first attempt at hand quilting, or quilting of any type for that matter. I was feeling quite happy and proud about it so I showed it to Hub who said " he wasn't keen". Now this has led to me second guessing myself... what do you think? Bear in mind that this is just a little bit of it.

Your hand quilting is fab - I wish we had known you were just across the road yesterday too! Tell me more about the knit and natter........... I've been trying to find out about one locally. We'll have to arrange another meet up soon. Lucy x

You should know better than to ask for hubby's advise!! I ask for mine sometimes and always regret it - he just doesn't get it and always says the silliest things that make me so disheartened - go with your own first impressions - they are always the best judge, and I say it's fab!, Its great!! A millionty times better than the sad attempt I once made!!

I think it looks great! Don't ask the males, they don't get it. Though I'm sure he has other redeemable qualities.

I can't believe that that is your first hand quilting attempt - the stickes look so small and even. Well done!

it is wonderful! Men are so funny like that. They do not understand the work involved.

I think its incredible, and your first go? Amazing! I really am impressed. You obviously have a talent for it. Keep up the good work and DONT second guess yourself (even though I do it too). I can say though that I am pretty lucky. My hubby really appreciates handmade things and all things vintage too!

Now, tell me if I'm wrong but when was the last time you came across a male quilter? Not recently is my guess and there's a reason for that - men wouldn't know good quilting if it bopped them on the nose. I think its beautiful dn looks ratehrt tricky! I wouldn't know where to start,
Have a lovely weekend.

I went to a great talk on Wednesday night about applique, and thought of you, I'll have to write a blog post about it.

Hi Lisa and thanks for the comment you left on my blog. I wish I could remember which comment I deleted - it was one of those that says 'go here' and I know they are viruses so I deleted it straightaway.

On another matter - that quilt is gorgeous! what is he talking about! I want toi give it a go but keep putting it off as I haven't a clue xx

Like a lead balloon, springs to mind! I suppose hubs did at least say something, and you didn't just get a grunt? For the record, I think you are making a very good job of quilting. x

"Not keen" on what? Having a wonderfully talented wife?! I think it looks great. But do value his honesty once you've got over the crushed feelings. At least you know when he says he loves it - he loves it!

Great job. I've actually never done any quilting by hand but I would love to learn how to.

I hope you share the entire project once finished.

Have a great week!

Oh squeek! That is so beautiful! Bop your husband over the head with it, and sit down and finish it... lol

Husbands don't often possess the talent of knowing a good quilt when they see one :-D
