30th November 2010

So on Friday gone it started to snow .... and it snowed ..... and it snowed ..... and it snowed .

We've had temperatures of - 10c , we've had thundersnow which was both amazing and scary at the same time . I don't think I've ever heard a noise or seen lightning like that before.

The boys have been off school for two days - snow days, but are going back tomorrow - apparantly ! We are waiting for further notification on that one.

The car hasn't moved and we've had to help random people who have parked in our street and then got stuck.

None of the local shops have bread or milk , we've had no post and no binmen ( refuse collections ).

So I though it was as good a time as any to defrost the freezer.

On a computer note hub took my laptop apart and gave it a good clean - fingers crossed it holds out a bit longer.

Not having ever seen snow.... how much fun!!! ;) My brother is travelling in the UK at the moment and he's FREEZING! He's a about 6 foot tall and looks like a stick....!! Poor boy! Hope you get the boys back to school soon!

Om it sounds so extreme. At least the boys seem happy enough in it all. Hope it warms up soon.

You're so funny! And brilliant -- great freezer plan. The snow looks beautiful -- I sure wish we'd get some here!

Oh wow! You guys really did get some snow. It's not cold enough here yet to snow ... maybe by Christmas? Stay warm (and free of boredom - ha ha)

Wow that's a lot of snow and the thundersnow sounds pretty scary - never heard of that before. We've been lucky so far (although not according to Amy who is desperate for proper snow) as we've just had a light dusting. Hope you manage to track down some bread and milk and keep warm - knitting helps warm your fingers!

Great photos. Seems really weird that there's snow in the UK and not any here!

I bet the boys loved their snowdays! I think you are really sensible defrosting the freezer. Did you put the food outside whilst you did it?!!!

It all looks wonderful to those of us who don't have to live in it. We have had thunder here in the last couple of days. Your poor English test team is here and it was 36C yesterday i think they nearly melted.

I wish I thought of defrosting our freezer! I must say I thought of you when I saw snow was falling up in the North East. You had yours first, and continued to have it! In a way I was lucky as I've been off work sick, and didn't have to dice with death in the snowy conditions. The thunderstorms sound sublime. I hope the weather is improving a little for you now. Lovely snow pics by the way. x
