Regular readers of my Blog will know that one thing I have always wanted to do is knit socks . I've always commented on other peoples sock making endeavours and envied their braveness but the thought of getting my stubby little fingers around 4 DPN's terrified me .
So how pleased was I when Linda came along to our little Stitch n Bitch with a sock pattern done on 2 needles - So one week later on a Thursday evening I began said socks, choosing the smallest size which just happened to be Milo size . I still got stuck twice at the exact same part of the pattern but thankfully Linda works in my LYS and didn't mind when I hassled her both times . By Saturday evening the socks were finished and here they are Taaa Daaaaah
I even put some latex paw prints on the bottom so he won't slip on the floor , the only problem is ( apart from the fact that he was having a problem holding his legs up for me to take a picture ) is that he doesn't like them - his complaint is that they are too soft - oh well !!
One thing that he didn't complain about was losing his first tooth yesterday
Luckily I was prepared for the tooth fairies arrival with Timmy Tooth and his star pocket ..
I've already been asked to make another by one of the mams at the school..

Woohoo Milo! How fun is it to lose your first tooth! And the socks are beautiful -- I love the blue. I hope you had fun knitting them!
Goodness you knit those socks really fast! They look wonderful by the way...even if they are too soft! Love the tooth fairy pocket. I am sure it will hold the first of many teeth.

Wow! Those socks are amazing! And you are soooo fast. I'm definilty impressed.
Henry can't wait to loose a tooth ... I need to get on the ball and make a pouch. Your's is so cute - and the wee one with a missing tooth ... well he outshines the socks ;-)
The socks are great. I am sure Ed would be interested to hear about a pattern using 2 needles, is it online?
Glad you enjoyed Allen Banks!
How can socks be too soft?!!! I wish I could make socks but I am not very good at knitting. Yours look really great. Milo looks so happy with his toothy grin! What does the tooth fairy bring thesedays? I used to get a silver sixpence!
Yay the socks turned out great! And I love the little paw prints on the bottom. Have you started a pair for yourself yet? Milo is so cute with his missing tooth! He's getting so big, where has the time gone? x
Your tooth pouch is so cute! Love Milo's socks - the footprints were the perfect finishing touch.
Is it not cool to wear socks knitted by Mum! Love that toothless grin Milo. Thank goodness that tooth-fairy was on the ball with your prize. x
Congratulations on the wonderful socks - I love the little paw prints! I am sure that, if you can make those beautiful bunnies, then you will be able to master the DPN's without any problem! Beware though, handknitted socks are very addictive!
And congratulations to Milo on losing his first tooth - what a milestone!

I'm ashamed to admit I don't know what DPN is - I really do have a lot to learn!
Milo's look great and I bet, despite the softness, they'll be really warm for next winter. Juliex
The socks are great - even if they are too soft!!! Dpns are easy-peasy once you get going - bribe someone else to do the first inch for you and then you'll be flying! (at least that's what I did for the first few times!)

Great socks!
The socks are awesome. Love the tooth pockeet too.
Socks that are too soft? Is that possible? Or does he mean that they aren't manly enough for him? ;-)
