A Lovely Weekend..

The weekend is always so much better when Hub isn't at work, and it can only get better as the weather improves and we can get out and about and visit more places.
On Saturday we had to go into town , I really dislike going into town on a Saturday as it's just far too busy ,but this was a necessity. Not wanting to waste a day we went for a walk around the park in town. I sometimes wander around the duck pond but today we went right to the back of the park where we were greeted by these daffodils all smiling brightly in the sun

We also found this ' magic ' door ,

which is set right into the rock face.

G was happy trying to climb the little hills, especially as how Hub was up there making the most of the sunshine

He was soon joined by his best mate !

Sunday was my choice seeing that it's Mothers Day . I chose to go to a place called Waldridge Fell, it's a place I've never been to and is only about half an hour drive from where we live. The weather was much different from yesterday , it was bitterly cold and very windy, but that didn't matter I was in my element. I am so definately a " woody " person .

The dead looking bracken was only just starting to show signs of life

and the heather was coming into bud.

The gorse bushes stood out being bright yellow.

Deeper into the wood we went...

I just wanted to follow every little path and peer into all the nooks and crannys , I love distorted branches

G likes little sticks .

As we started walking back to the car I just knew in my heart of hearts we would be coming back here and I can't wait to see it with a little bit more green ..

So I'll say bye for now and in a few days I'll be back with either a) the front of the town park, b) the crafting I've been doing or c ) what's been happening in my back yard!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend and please click on the pics to enlarge them , they look better when they are bigger, plus you'll be able to see Hub waving in the last one.

It sounds like you've all had a lovely weekend. Mr Locket and I used to live right next to Waldridge Fell!

Looks like a lovely weekend, I have never been there before but think we will have a trip soon.
I never saw you in the town, I guess if I had a tribe of children with me then I would be constantly counting the little darlings to make sure I had not lost one.
If it was the say I think it was then I actually took two different classes into town that day.
Take Care,

it looks like you had a wonderful weekend. i love the photos of spring - the daffodils especially. i don't think the seasons are so dramatic here - we are generally a lot milder until summer when it can be scorchingly hot. hope some more sunny weather comes your way with lots of adventures in the woods - so much fun!

Ooh, that door's rather wonderful - it looks like something from 'The Shire'! Great pictures and a lovely post.

What lovely pics. I can't wait to get out and about when Lola is a bit better, spring seems to be arriving in a rush. Leave me your contact details when you get chance - the kids loved your joke!

Such lovely photos in your last two posts. I just love England in the Spring - all those gorgeous flowers popping up out of nowhere. Bet you all had lovely rosy cheeks after that walk!
