Predictability ?

It seems as though all I'm blogging about lately are days out and bunnies.... so really this post shouldn't be a surprise...

On Friday we spotted our first baby ducks of the year , if you click on the pic you can just make out 6 of them . They are a week earlier than last years.

Wasn't Easter Sunday just gorgeous , the weather forecasters were sooooo wrong. Instead of the cloud and rain they had predicted we got an absolutely glorious day, the sun shone brightly and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.. It's the first time this year I've had my arms out !! Once again we ventured off to somewhere new. This time we went to Chopwell Wood which is about a 45 minute drive away from where we live.

I do sometimes wonder if you get bored reading my little blog as even I think that sometimes my posts are a bit repetitive, but , this is my life , this is what me and my family do , I like my life and I love exploring new places , I love seeing the boys faces when we find little forest houses,

giant frond sculptures,

and wooden leaf seats.

I love taking the path to the right and coming across old trucks to explore

and old railway arches to climb

Taking the path to the left

and finding " Twilight " glades

where the wood anemones are in full flower and woodpeckers fly overhead.

Crossing a " Dirty Dancing " log when you are caught short -- oops

and thinking how embarrassed they will be when future partners get to see photos like this

Sometimes , being predictable isn't a bad thing - is it ?

It sounds like a perfect day to me, predictable or not.... I am sure that these photos will reappear in years to come to haunt our children but that is our jobs as parents... to embarrass our children..LOL...
I love reading about your days, keep it up.

What a wonderful day out, it's days like those that are 'memory makers' even if the photos will be somewhat embarassing in the future if only for the little ones!

Lovely pictures and a perfect day out. What a great way to spend an Easter Sunday. We had gorgeous weather too. It has been colder today but am holding on to the warmer memories and hoping we'll see it warm again soon :) PS Predictable is great!! x

It's not predictable, it's lovely! Where abouts is the wood you went to, it looks very interesting. We're had relitively good weather here too, enough to get down to the allotment and make a fair dent in what we had to do. My hands are sore now though, and it...hurts....to ......type.....

You were lucky with your weather then - ours was horrible drizzly wet and grey all day on Sunday. Much better today though.

Your pictures are, as ever, just lovely. x

I thrive on predictability ;-) I love the pictures you take - it's such a beautiful part of the world you live in - how fortunate you are to have such lovely places to go (especially now that you've got your wheels! he he)

it sounds like a lovely day! just the sort of things i can't wait to do with my son when he's a bit bigger. it'll be nice to use him as an excuse to go haring off down paths, jumping along stepping stones, splashing in a stream or hiding under a bridge (pretending to be a troll of course) - i've been doing these things for years anyway just coz they're fun, but i do get slightly odd looks from people!
please keep telling us all about your adventures!!

I think we all like to see that no matter how different we are, life is the same in so many ways for us. I love routine and there is something very comforting about predictability so long as it's tempered with the odd burst of spontenanity.

If you think your posts are predictable, I love predictable, seeing your boys always reminds me of when our boys were small on our days out, make the most of it they grow up so quick.

3 years isn't too long in terms of allotment waiting lists - have you decided whether to put your name down or not?

I'd love those wooden sculptures in my garden, but perhaps not the last one! It is always a pleasure to see you and your family having such a fun time together. You really do have some great places around you, so carry on exploring! x
